It must be every copywriter’s dream to be landed with the radio brief for the National Lottery. It’s an account that screams for creativity and imaginative thinking. And the latest campaign doesn’t disappoint.
The ad opens up in a jewellers with a woman looking for an engagement ring.
‘Sales person: And what carrot size are we talking of?
Woman: Yeah, as big as a carrot would be great. Though if you’ve anything the size of a turnip we’ll have a look at that too.’
The humour is great and allows for a sense of escapism. It’s another great execution from the The National Lottery who have been in operation in Ireland since 1987.
